THE UNIVERSAL ZULU NATION

Anyone who knows their Hip Hop History knows that the five elements of Hip Hop Culture (DJ-ing, MCing, B-Boying/Breakdancing, Graffiti and Knowledge), were first put together in 1974 by The Godfather/Amen Ra of Hip Hop, AFRIKA BAMBAATAA, under his chosen banner, THE UNIVERSAL ZULU NATION. Bambaataa was the first to take Hip Hop Culture outside of the Bronx, New York to different countries. On his travels he set up Zulu Nation Chapters around the world. One of the first Zulu Nation Chapters to be established was the UK Chapter back in the early 80s. The Zulu Nation UK Chapter has members and local Chapters throughout Britain, and as Ambassadors of Hip Hop Culture, they work at promoting the full spectrum of Hip Hop and its history through shows, seminars, workshops, music and various other community activities.

The Zulu Nation Rap Show serves as the mouth piece for the Zulu Nation and specifically the UK Chapter, (although you will hear exclusive material from other Zulu Chapters around the world). Catch the Zulu Nation Rap Show representing Tru Skool and UK Hip Hop, Mondays 10pm-midnight, on BANG Radio 103.6FM (NW London) and Online at www.bangradio.fm.

You will also find recordings from WHCR, also known as "The Voice of Harlem", airs Bambaataa's radio show, "True School Musical Journey", on Tuesday nights from 8:00PM to 12:00AM Eastern Time, and can be streamed live from http://whcr.org/whcrstream.m3u

The show has a remit directly from Afrika Bambaataa to promote UK Hip Hop past, present and forthcoming and also to represent Tru Skool Hip Hop, least we forget those that laid the path before us!

Please note that the show is radio friendly with no profanity so feel free to play it at work or in front of your Grandma! In true Sensei FM style, this is REAL Hip Hop, so ENJOY!
