DOWNLOW

It was December of 1995 and Dj Downlow received two cd walkmans and a Radioshack 4 channel mixer. He proceeded to annoy everyone with his clanging mixes (no pitch adjust…ahhh those were the days) After many years of digging and summer jobs these were replaced with two 1210’s and a Vestax pmc-06. From here he began to practice the art known as Turntablism and strive to please as many crowds as possible. After hosting shows on various different stations Downlow finally settled down to do “The Wednesday Lowdown” for 2 years on ITCH FM until eventually moving on to concentrate on a Film & Video degree. Since then he has been working and Dj’ing with various artists and playing to many different crowds, producing music, writing scripts, making films and reading sound design books.

In terms of my shows I like to add in beat juggling routines, scratching and all sorts of madness. I feel it is essential to give the show a live, well-rounded vibe and keep the essence of hip hop dj’ing alive. I also play a lot of exclusives and remixes from myself and other artists in and out of the country, so make sure you lock in and support the cause!!
